Dear OTdigital Community,

Last Monday, 31 August 2026, the EFORT Educational Webinar “Translating Applications of Artificial Intelligence into Clinic and Research” took place as part of the Digitalisation and AI in Orthopaedics & Traumatology series.

Chaired by Dr. Bernd Grimm and Dr. Martin Breitwieser, the programme featured Prof. Meir T. Marmor (UCSF/Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital), presenting the current state of AI in orthopaedic trauma, and Prof. Dominik Pförringer (TUM Venture Lab Healthcare & Technical University of Munich), discussing the evolving role of AI and the orthopaedic surgeon.

In addition, Prof. David A. Back (Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin), as Chair of the OTdigital 2026 Congress, had the opportunity to present selected AI-related contributions and key insights from this year’s congress to the wider EFORT audience. This provided an additional platform for highlighting the work, ideas and developments contributed by the OTdigital community beyond the congress itself.
